Glenn Araya is an interdisciplinary artist, born and working in Los Angeles, California  

 Having been raised in the 90's with strong influences by digital mass media, it became a strong influence in my life in general. This popular visual culture has been and continues to be a strong interest of mine when it comes to art. This popular visual culture, which includes elements found in television, comic books, and cinema, can be characterized by constant change and interdisciplinary approaches. For example the idea of superheroes are presented in not only comics but as well as toys, games, animation, advertisements, and other products each constantly changing visually. What has fascinated me in the past and continues to fascinate me now is how completely accessible this visual culture is. The signs and signifiers are never fixed but rather the images are very relatable and decode itself to people on an individual basis, while simultaneously connecting on a larger cultural consciousness.
